Just In Case You Missed It: I won a NaBloPoMo Prize & What I've Learned About NaNoWriMo

It is officially the end of the NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo Writing Challenges and I will have to say that it has definitely been a hard one.

About My NaNoWriMo Experience...

2013-Participant-Square-Button

I was totally and completely unprepared for the NaNoWriMo Writing Challenge. I did, however, find my novel that I was working on years ago and decide to continue writing it. I have actually only written about 10,000 words of it, but was VERY unsuccessful in retyping and entering it in on the web site, so officially, I've only written about 350 words. lol So I'm going to write about what I've learned and what I could've done to reach the 50,000 words for the NaNoWriMo Writing Challenge.

  • Have a clear vision of style of writing ( fiction, non fiction...etc)

  • Prepare writing ahead of time (preface or rough draft )
  • Join writing groups or clubs
  • Participate in NaNoWriMo Events for Networking and Inspiration

About My NaBloPoMo Experience...

NaBloPoMo_November_large

I have definitely tried my best in keeping up with writing on my blog daily, however, I lacked the motivation to write from the heart. I'd rather wait to post something meaningful than to post ramblings of my day, because let's face it, I'm a SAHM and Student so my day to day is the least bit interesting. I liked the fact that I could've chose daily prompts to help my posts, but for some reason they were tasking for me mentally because I'm also studying very hard to graduate soon. My overall feeling about the NaBloPoMo experience is that I will definitely do it again and next time I will dedicate every single day to posting.

The greatest thing that came out of the November NaBloPoMo experience was that I was one of the winners of a prize for the November Contest! A Blog Her 2014 Conference Ticket to San Jose, California! So exciting! It was the best feeling to see that I won! How lucky could I be? :)

I haven't decided if I'm going to sign up for the December NaBloPoMo, but it couldn't hurt right? It's all about getting those creative juices flowing and showing your love for writing and art with the world. I guess we will see :)
